Magdalena Matias was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. As a child, she always enjoyed drawing and painting. She graduated from the World University in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Magdalena Matias was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. As a child, she always enjoyed drawing and painting. She graduated from the World University in San Juan, Puerto Rico with a bachelor’s degree in art and taught art for more than 16 years. She enjoys painting landscapes, still life and marine scenes. She participates in different group exhibits, including the Coalition of Hispanic Artists at Kress Contemporary in Ybor City. She has achieved important recognitions throughout her artistic career. Her beautiful paintings will be on view September 2 - October 30, 2025. Join us for a reception on Saturday, September 13 from 11am to 1pm.

The Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library opened February 14, 2001 to serve the Carrollwood and Northdale communities in northern Hillsborough County. A 10,000 square foot expansion of the original 25,000 square foot building was completed in February 2014 and features:
The library houses a comprehensive circulating collection in multiple formats and a wide variety of programs and services. In addition to the two large community rooms and story time room, four smaller meeting rooms are available for programs, meetings, quiet study and literacy tutoring. A public makerspace, The Hive, offers unique tools, activities and events for hands-on learning. A drive-thru window offers convenient checkout and return of library materials to customers on the go.
