Tampa Museum of Art
Studio 55: Print 'n' Stitch: Stories in Ink & Thread
Monday, July 06
11:00am - 1:00pm
Ruskin Branch Library
Pauline Dickman Lawler Community RoomUnleash your inner artist in Print 'n' Stitch, a unique workshop where the art of printmaking meets the craft of embroidery.
Learn to create original designs on both paper and fabric, using ink to convey your personal story. Participants will draw inspiration from two Poster Exhibitions: Ancient Athens Birthplace of Democracy and Florida Made. Using these themes as a springboard, explore narratives of the past, present, and future. Once your prints are complete, discover how to enhance them with thread, using simple embroidery techniques to add texture and dimension. Whether you frame your finished paper print or sew your fabric patch onto a jacket, you'll leave with a new craft to share and a piece of art that tells your story.
